Carpenters value education for its members and their families. All of us benefit from on the job and in the classroom training to improve our skills and be prepared for the next opportunity. For many members, they want to see their family succeed beyond what they have accomplished. We all deserve the opportunity for success through education. The PNWRCC is proud to offer access to high quality, post high school education for children and grandchildren of members of the PNWRCC. The Scholarship Fund is collected through ongoing donations and charity fundraising from members, partners and other organizations. This does not come from regular dues or Pension Trust, but our members’ commitment to improve their families’ opportunities through education. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to FULL TIME students pursuing an education beyond high school for the coming school year.
The Scholarship Committee selects winners by a panel of judges to review and score applications. A blind system will be used to ensure anonymity and based on the merits of the applicants. Applicants must be children, step children or grandchildren of a PNWRCC member. Award amounts are based on three categories: scholastic achievement, financial need, and an overall review of the student which includes their application presentation, essay, community involvement, and school activities. Applications are accepted each year beginning in December, through February of the following year with winners announced in the Spring (see application for specific dates).
