Southern Carpenters Disaster Relief Fund

A relief fund has been established by the Southern States Millwright Council, Central South Carpenters Regional Council, and the UBC to aid UBC members, their families, and their communities affected by this devastating flood in Louisiana and Alabama.

Hundreds of carpenters, millwrights, pile drivers and other UBC members, as well as UBC staff and office workers have lost or incurred severe damage to possessions, homes, and vehicles. Your generous donation is needed.

Efforts are being coordinated by the CSCRC RELIEF FUND. All donations should be sent to the

Our founding president, Peter J. McGuire worked tirelessly on the job sites across the country with his fellow Carpenters to organize the union. In 1881, he organized a Chicago convention to form a union. Representatives from 11 cities joined him and they produced a constitution and structure. Learn More
