Evelyn Shapiro, EST pro tem

Effective July 31, 2018
Doug Tweedy has retired as the Executive Secretary-Treasurer/CEO and Executive Committee member of the Council. Per his authority under Section 32-B of the UBC Constitution, he has appointed Evelyn Shapiro as Executive Secretary-Treasurer pro tem.

This appointment builds upon Evelyn’s experience as an 18-year member of the Northwest Carpenters Union and her passion in her work as a representative, an organizer, and a leader in labor compliance for the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters. Her interim position will ensure that the organization continues to function effectively, and seamlessly until we have an election.

Doug has been a respected leader in the building trades and has significantly contributed to the betterment of the Council, staff, and membership. Evelyn will be appointing a President pro tem before the August Annual Delegate Meeting.

“Please join me in wishing Doug and his family all the best in his well-deserved retirement.” – Evelyn Shapiro
