JOURNEYMAN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM: Building leaders for a stronger future
The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC) holds an exciting leadership program for current journey-level members interested in leadership positions with the Union. The Journeyman Leadership Program is a three-day program geared towards developing the strong qualities of members on the job – leadership, communication, mentoring and collective action. You will learn where the UBC came from and where it’s headed, and, importantly, how you are a part of it. Journey level members in good standing are eligible to attend.
Members go to the International Training Center at UBC Headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada. Your room and board will be paid for, and the Council will reimburse you for up to 16 hours of lost wages and benefits. We have 180 spaces available for each session. You’ll meet and learn from UBC leaders and members from around the country.
The July 9–12th JLP session has been canceled due to the further closure of the ITC.
Future dates have not been determined. 2021 session dates will not be known until mid-December. We encourage you to go forward with applying. We will contact you at the end of the year so you can choose your dates. If the dates do not work for you, that is okay. You are not committed to going until your spot has been confirmed.
