  • 2020 Northwest Wildfires: Relief for Members

    In order to be eligible for financial assistance in the form of a hardship distribution from the Pacific Northwest Carpenters Relief Fund (PNCRF), you must fully complete and submit this Relief Request Form and supporting materials through this online form. 

    You are eligible for a hardship distribution if you meet the following three requirements:

    1. You were a victim of the recent 2020 Northwest Wildfire disasters (August-September, 2020 and continuing) whose primary residence is/was in a county in Washington, Oregon, Montana or Wyoming that was declared a disaster area by FEMA in 2020. Eligible counties are listed below. If your fire loss occurred in one of those counties, your economic hardship is an appropriate target of relief from the PNCRF; and 
    2. At the time of the disaster, and at the time you submit this Relief Request Form, you were/are a member in good standing of a Local Union affiliated with the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters; and 
    3. You incurred reasonable and necessary personal, family or living expenses as a result of the 2020 Northwest Wildfire disasters that are not otherwise paid for by insurance or other reimbursements.

  • You must provide supporting records — including receipts, invoices, and pictures, either physical or digital — along with proof of residency when submitting this form. Acceptable proof of residency is a driver’s license or other government issued identification showing the residential address and a copy of a utility or similar bill in your name at the residence listed on your government issued identification. Please include your full name, telephone number, and address. Please complete the entire application in order to ensure expedited processing.

    CONDITIONS FOR REQUEST
    In order to be eligible for relief from the PNCRF, your primary residence must be in a Pacific Northwest County in Washington, Oregon, Montana or Wyoming that was specifically designated by FEMA as a disaster zone. Accordingly, your primary residence was/is in one of the following counties:

    Washington: Douglas, Franklin, Kittitas, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Skamania, Whitman, Yakima, Colville Reservation, Yakama Reservation.
    Oregon: Benton, Clackamas, Columbia, Coos, Deschutes, Douglas, Jackson, Jefferson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Multnomah, Tillamook, Wasco, Washington, Yamhill.
    Montana: Custer, Gelatin, Garfield, Musselshell, Powder River, Rosebud, Stillwater, Yellowstone.
    Wyoming: Albany, Carbon.

    AMOUNT OF HARDSHIP DISTRIBUTION
    You may request up to $1,000 in financial assistance from the PNCRF. This money can be used to pay for reasonable and necessary expenses you incurred (as a result of the 2020 Northwest Wildfires) for the repair or replacement of your personal residence or of its contents or for living expenses due to evacuation, which are not otherwise paid for by insurance or other reimbursement.

    • TAXABILITY OF HARDSHIP DISTRIBUTION
      IMPORTANT: Distributions from the PNCRF may be taxable. Accordingly, it is your responsibility to pay any applicable taxes on any distributions received from the PNCRF. It is advised that you consult a tax preparer or an attorney to determine whether you owe taxes on the amount received from the PNCRF. By submitting this Relief Request Form, you understand that you, and not the PNCRF or any of its agents, are responsible for the tax consequences of any distribution you may receive.

      By checking this box, you are certifying that your primary residence is/was in the above-indicated County that was designated a disaster area by the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the 2020 Northwest Wildfire disasters.

      You are certifying that, as a result of the 2020 Northwest Wildfire disaster, you have incurred reasonable and necessary expenses for the repair or replacement of your personal residence or of its contents or for living expenses due to evacuation, which are not otherwise paid for by insurance or other reimbursement.

You further understand that you must reimburse the PNCRF for any benefit received should any of the information provided herein not prove accurate.
