PNWRCC elects Evelyn Shapiro EST, and Joe Cadwell President

In a historic election at the November 17, 2018 delegate meeting the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters elected Evelyn Shapiro (Carpenters Local 30 Renton, WA) with an overwhelming majority of the 155 delegates present. This election marks the first woman to be elected to Executive Secretary Treasurer in the United States in the 137-year history of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. In her capacity, EST Shapiro will lead over 24,000 carpenters throughout six states in the Northwest. EST Shapiro won with a vote of 108-47.

Joe Cadwell, a Pile Driver from the Portland area and a member of Local 196 was also elected. He ran unopposed.
